PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - The Pineville Police Department has shared that a Pineville man has been found guilty in connection with a fatal crash, resulting from illegal racing.
PPD shared that back in November of 2023, Marion Tolbert and another person were racing vehicles on a highway at speeds over 100 mph. The race led to them hitting a vehicle, resulting in the death of Anthony “Tony” Connella.
PPD announced on Sept. 22 that Tolbert was found guilty of “drag racing and racing on public roads and certain property.”
According to the statute, anyone found guilty of this offense, when a death occurs, could face a penalty of up to five years at hard labor, which is the sentence PPD said Tolbert received.
