KINGSTON — The city’s withdrawal from providing the recycling services continues with the coming closure of the administrative building at Kingston Area Recycling Centre on Lappan’s Lane.
The office is to close permanently at the end of the business day on Sept. 29.

Earlier this year, recycling services transitioned away from the city and is now overseen by Circular Materials Ontario, which contracted Emterra Environmental for collection in Kingston.
In August, city council approved a plan to sell the property at an asking price of $4.1 million.
The switch was part of a provincewide change that moved the responsibility for recycling to the companies that produce the waste.
