WELD COUNTY — The National Western Stock Show has named George Eidsness, owner of Trans-West Inc., as the 2026 Citizen of the West.
The committee of community leaders selects the annual award winner, who embodies the spirit and determination of the Western pioneer and represents the Western lifestyle, ideals, agricultural heritage and traditions, according to a press statement.
Eidsness and his wife, Barbara, moved to Colorado in 1990. They live in Weld County near Fort Lupton. He earned a degree from the University of North Dakota after growing up on a farm near Brocket, North Dakota.
Eidsness and his wife are longtime sponsors of the stock show, the auction of Junior Livestock Champions, the Citizen of the West annual award and the Coors Western Art Exhibit and Sale. He is a National
