CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Now that we’re officially in fall, let’s start with a quick look back at the summer we just wrapped up in the Charlotte area.
We had 53 days with high temperatures of 90 degrees and above. That’s above our yearly average of 44. The 100-degree mark was hit four times, while we average one per year.
July 2025 was extraordinarily hot. It tied with 1986 as the second-warmest month on record, but it also set a new record: the warmest average low temperature of any month in history.
Now, what to expect this fall season?
The average high falls to 78° on October 1, then to 68° by November 1, and then down to 58° by the end of that month. The average low drops from around 50° in October to just under 40° in November.
Fall is typically drier than summer. From September through
