GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Fourteen area students are receiving a back-to-school boost thanks to the Wisconsin Public Service (WPS) Foundation. The foundation awarded $25,000 in technical college scholarships to support first-time college students across northeast and north-central Wisconsin.

According to a press release from WPS, the scholarships cover a full year of tuition for students pursuing programs in fields such as automotive and heavy equipment maintenance, electric power distribution, engineering technology, and marketing.

This year's recipients come from surrounding communities including Green Bay, Kewaunee, De Pere, Pulaski, Luxemburg, and Wrightstown.
