SHARON A Valley native is giving back to his hometown friends who are looking to move the Shenango Valley Animal Shelter to a new, bigger building.
Shenango Valley Animal Shelter Chair Ken Hubert tells 21 News Youngstown native Ken Cooper, who is friends with former Shenango Valley Animal Shelter Board of Directors member Duane Piccirilli, is matching all donations towards the new building dollar for dollar now until Thanksgiving.
Hubert says the shelter is looking to raise $50,000 for the new building. Cooper matching all of those donations will double that number to $100,000 raised.
According to a notice on the shelter's website, the total cost to finish out the interior of the new building is $750,000.
Hubert says the shelter's current building is small, dates back to the 1960s
