ANDERSON COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) - Home preservation has been a top concern for many people, especially if it was storm related. Organizations are teaming up to rebuild what was lost.
This weekend will be the one year anniversary since hurricane Helene shook up the community.
“I remember the wind, the howling around the house while I was in here. Watching the trees from the backyard hitting the ground. I couldn't even see outside across the street,” said Richard Kisker, assistance program participant.
The wind swept siding off Richard Kisker's house, shingles were ripped off, the roof was damaged. He said it was hard to watch the home he’s owned for 35 years become unrecognizable.
“I feel vulnerable that something like this could happen. Gotta look out for everything,” said Kisker.
