PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- Crews will begin pavement sealing work throughout the city of Peoria on Wednesday.

Starting on Sept. 24, the work will take place on various city streets, Peoria Public Works spokesman Nick McMillion said.

Those directly impacted will be notified with a door hanger 24 hours before the sealing work takes place.

"No parking" and other traffic signs will be placed along the streets. On-street parking restrictions will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. No parking areas will remain in effect until the project is completed and the no parking signs have been removed.

McMillion said the work will be done on one side of the street at a time. Flaggers will be present and will allow one-way traffic on the other half of the street.
