The Surrey Police Board's governance committee has decided that the Surrey Police Service policy related to traffic noise enforcement is "adequate."
During the summer three redacted letters came before the board concerning traffic noise and what police are doing about it. Chief Constable Norm LIpinski was tasked with investigating the complaints.
The first complaint came with a petition from more that 250 residents on 104 Avenue and 370 more calling for fines for auto shops that alter mufflers and engines "to make them louder and noisy.
"Many automotive shops in Newton (Surrey) offer these services as they are popular and in demand," the complainant wrote. "Ensure fines are paid."
A second related letter, also redacted, noted that noise pollution from
