President Trump condemned moves by Western nations to recognize a Palestinian state on Tuesday, claiming such steps would only reward Hamas for the atrocities committed on Oct. 7, 2023.

Speaking before the United Nations General Assembly , Trump called on the world powers to help him secure a hostage release deal rather than join the wave of countries that have formally recognized a Palestinian state.

“As if to encourage continued conflict, some of this body is seeking to unilaterally recognize the Palestinian state. The rewards would be too great for Hamas terrorists for their atrocities ,” he said. 4
