Former Indiana baseball star Phillip Glasser has been named the minor league hitter of the year for the Washington Nationals organization.

Glasser, a 2023 second-team All-Big Ten selection, hit .302 between Double-A Harrisburg and Triple-A Rochester. In 124 games, he had 143 hits, 71 runs, 7 home runs, 49 runs batted in, 60 walks and 32 stolen bases. The 10th-round draft pick in the 2023 MLB Draft played 112 games for Harrisburg and 12 for Rochester in 2025, shuttling between middle infield and outfield.

In two seasons as IU shortstop, Glasser hit .352 with 160 hits and 73 RBIs. He played three seasons at Youngstown State before joining the Hoosiers.

He is expected to battle for a spot on the Nationals in 2026.
