St. John’s Episcopal Church in Bedford will have a Celebration of New Ministry Sept. 28 as the church welcomes the Rev. Kelsey Hutto-Ford as its new priest-in-charge.

The Rev. Hutto-Ford has been serving as supply priest at St. John’s since 2022. Ordained in 2013, she is a graduate of Sewanee University: The School of Theology.

The church recently started a new mission project, Laundry of Love. Once a month, the Rev. Hutto-Ford and a church volunteer spend an evening at Anytime Laundry in Bedford and provide detergent and coins for laundry.

"This new chapter as Priest in Charge is not just a change in title, but an opportunity to dream, build, and cultivate with St. John’s so that we might become exactly what the community of Bedford needs," said Hutto-Ford.
