SANTA FE COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – According to the New Mexico Department of Health, there has been an increase in overdose-related deaths and emergency department visits this year in three counties in the state. Overdose-related deaths and emergency department visits are rising in Santa Fe, Taos, and Rio Arriba counties. "For me, it wasn't too surprising to see that's where it's happening because these are hubs," Santa Fe Police Department Deputy Chief Ben Valdez said. "These are trafficking intersections."
