APOLLO BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — A mother is demanding answers after her 8-year-old son came home from school Friday with an abrasion on his neck.

“He comes home with not just a scratch. I mean, an abrasion and no one can tell me why [or] how this happened?” said Fatiha King. “The wound started to open up, so I did take him to the emergency room because he had so much swelling."

The school nurse reportedly called King Friday, leaving a message that Bryson had an accident with another student involving a jump rope.

Bryson initially told his mother it was an accident.

“When I initially saw it, I’m like, ‘that’s not an accident,’” King said.

King said Bryson later disclosed on Monday that another student had hurt him.
