Two boys, first spotted in a reported stolen Audi sedan who led officers on a 100-plus-mph chase that apparently ended with a PIT maneuver, prompting one to then exchange gunfire with authorities, were arrested in Upland late Sunday night, Sept. 22, according to officials and media reports.

One boy was caught shortly after the pursuit ended on Euclid Avenue.

The other fled, firing at at least one officer and breaking into a home on the 300 block of North Laurel Avenue, where he barricaded himself, said Rodrigo Jimenez, an officer and spokesman for the California Highway Patrol. The home was occupied.

From there, he exchanged gunfire with officers, who had surrounded the home, a second time, authorities said.
