One person was taken to hospital with minor injuries after an SUV and a pickup truck collided in Wainfleet Monday afternoon.

Niagara Regional Police said a blue pickup truck was travelling west on Concession Road 1 near Station Road when it collided with a white SUV travelling in the eastbound lane just before 3:30 p.m.

The crash caused the SUV to leave the roadway and enter a ditch. The truck came to a stop a short distance away.

The driver of the SUV was taken to hospital in Welland for treatment of minor injuries, police said.

An investigation is ongoing.
