An Assonet man accused of scamming over $15,000 in parent-teacher organization (PTO) funds is set to be arraigned Wednesday, Sept. 24, according to Lakeville police .

According to a press release, former Freetown-Lakeville Middle School PTO treasurer Zachary Granville-Wilmot, 43, of Assonet, was summonsed on charges of forgery of a check (two counts), uttering a false check (two counts), embezzlement over $250 by an association member, and conspiracy.

Another Assonet man, James Granville-Wilmot, 41, was also summonsed on a conspiracy charge, according to the release. The relationship between the two men was not disclosed in the release.

The PTO page of the FLMS website lists Zachary Granville-Wilmot as treasurer for the 2024-2025 school year. James Granville-Wilmot is not listed as
