KETCHUM, Idaho — The mayoral race in Ketchum is officially on the ballot for the November election after questions about one candidate’s ability to run stalled the process.
The Fifth Judicial District Court on Monday overturned a decision by the Blaine County Clerk’s Office that had found candidate Pete Prekeges ineligible under Idaho residency requirements .
Judge R. Cotten ruled Prekeges qualified during a Sept. 22 hearing, and directed the Democratic candidate to be reinstated on the ballot, according to a Blaine County news release.
The race would have been uncontested without Prekeges’ candidacy. His opponent is John Wigdale, a real estate investor.
The two candidates are running to replace current Ketchum Mayor Neil Bradshaw, who said he will not run for re-election followi
