WASHINGTON — A statue featuring President Donald Trump and the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein holding hands and skipping has popped up on the National Mall in D.C.

A plaque reads, “In honor of friendship month, we celebrate the long-standing bond between President Donald J. Trump and his closest friend Jeffrey Epstein.”

The statue is the most recent in a string of oddities that have appeared on the National Mall, including a large gold statue of Trump holding out a Bitcoin and a 50-foot bunch of bananas .

The authorities have not said who placed the statue.

The president has repeatedly tried to distance himself from the late notorious sex trafficking suspect since reports that he was named in the Department of Justice’s Epstein file.
