CHARLESTON, Maine (WABI) - The Maine Department of Corrections says an inmate at the Mountain View Correctional Facility in Charleston has died.

They say 73-year-old Richard Sweet’s death on Monday was attended by medical personnel but didn’t give a cause of death.

Sweet was from Waterville.

In 1998, he began serving a 35-year sentence for gross sexual assault.
