A prosecuting attorney called me a few years ago from Harrogate, Tennessee. He asked if I would assist him on a case involving animal welfare. I have occasionally testified in court when an animal owner has allegedly abused animals in their care or perhaps did not provide adequate nutrition or housing for their animals. From past experiences, I now rarely accept companion animal legal cases. Occasionally, I get a case involving animals in herds that are being raised for food consumption.
