BLUFFTON, S.C. (WSAV) — Bluffton's mayor is speaking out about a lawsuit filed against his town by one of its own council people.
Bridgette Frazier is suing the town, the Bluffton Police Department and the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles for punitive damages and medical costs after getting arrested back in March of 2024 for driving without a license.
It turned out her license was not suspended. The DMC did apologize for the mistake.
Frazier said the incident was negligent and caused emotional and financial harm.
Bluffton Mayor Larry Toomer says he does not support the suit or her demands.
