(Gray News) - If you are already seeing fall colors in your neighborhood, you are not alone.
Meteorologists say fall colors are showing up weeks ahead of schedule so far this year across parts of the U.S.
Forecasters are saying we are seeing more of the fall colors earlier than usual due to the weather.
“Leaves started early this fall to make the change from their normal green to yellows and oranges across the Northeast and Ohio Valley,” Paul Pastelok, meteorologist with AccuWeather , said. ”Over recent years, the change [has been] more pronounced in late September."
A prolonged stretch of dry weather from August is said to have stressed certain trees, causing them to slow the supply of food and water to their leaves.
