LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

Parents and pedestrians in the Highlands say a lack of a left-turn signal at Bardstown Road and Eastern Parkway is causing traffic backups and concerns for some pedestrians.

Patty Berrian, who often walks in the area with her children, said she's more cautious in that area.

"It’s one thing to be watching whether or not we can go based on the signals, but we actually have to watch a lot because cars just don’t pay attention as much when they’re trying to make those left-hand turns very quickly because they don’t have a turn signal," said Berrian.

Workers in the area echo those concerns.

"I’ve seen several close calls where people almost get ran over or have been slightly nicked by the car, but thankfully everybody was safe," said Wesley Parker, co-owner of Full Tilt G
