CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) - St. Stanislaus School is mourning the loss of a beloved teacher and her husband after they were killed in a house fire on East 52nd Street, just south of Fleet Avenue, over the weekend.

The victims in the fire were identified on Monday as 57-year-old William Swincicki and 55-year-old Michelle Terwilliger.

The Cleveland Diocese said Terwilliger was a teacher at St. Stanislaus Catholic School for 19 years and mainly taught fifth-grade English.

“Yesterday was bumpy. It was very bumpy,” said St. Stan’s Principal Deborah Ann Martin.

Dr. Martin says Terwilliger, known to her students as “Ms. T,” was very committed to the school community.
