The City of Vancouver may end up paying former city manager Paul Mochrie his full salary for another two years after his abrupt departure from city hall’s top spot in July — a farewell package that could total more than $800,000.
A copy of Mochrie’s severance agreement was recently published on the city’s website, after city council approved its public release in a closed-door meeting last week. The document says Mochrie, who earned $387,110 last year as Vancouver’s most senior and highest-paid civil servant, was eligible for a maximum of 24 months of “salary continuance” after his last day working at the city, including health and dental benefits, and a three per cent annual pay raise.
