MONROE, Mich. — Telegraph Road in Monroe will be shut down for three weeks starting Sept. 29 as crews replace a culvert between Stewart Road and Holiday Boulevard, city officials said.
The Michigan Department of Transportation will close Telegraph between Stewart Road and Holiday Boulevard through Oct. 19. The road is scheduled to reopen Oct. 20 if work remains on track.
“This project is being done in quick fashion to avoid a longer, more disruptive closure,” said John Wall, administrative commander of the Monroe Department of Public Safety. “Three weeks of inconvenience certainly outweighs two to three months that would have stretched into the holiday shopping season.”
Drivers will be routed along Stewart Road to Monroe Street to Front Street, or from M-125 to Dunbar Road back to Teleg
