SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - One of the biggest debates in years in Aberdeen has been whether downtown should be a two-way road or keep it as a one-way.

In a 5-4 decision, the City Council chose the two-way road.

Downtown Aberdeen has been a one-way street since 1978, and this hot topic was a 4-4 tie before the mayor came in and broke the tie for the two-way street.

A couple of weeks ago, two businesses spoke with Dakota News Now about how this decision could negatively affect their businesses .

The city has since revised the plan to keep as much parking as possible, but one business owner said it’s not enough, and he’s started the rally to reverse this action.
