The city of Jacksonville has cleared the way for a $27 million, 29,000-square-foot Mormon church to be built in Mandarin.

According to the Jacksonville Daily Record, the city issued the building permit on Monday for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to complete the project, which is expected to be placed on a 6.6-acre site at 3325 Loretto Road.
