COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) - While fall just started, some members of the community are already preparing for the winter.
On Tuesday morning, El Paso County Public Works hosted its annual snow school training for employees.
Training Division Manager Scott Hall told 11 News that the training is for newer members of the team, including anyone in their first to third year.
He said that trainees get the opportunity to learn how to hang tire chains, run a loader moving salt and sand and more.
“This is just a precursor to what’s about to happen,” Hall said. “They do a ton of on-the-job training. This just gets them primed for it.”
He said the training is beneficial to get the team members ready for when conditions are cold and snowy outside.
