GILPIN COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) - Colorado State Patrol (CSP) is searching for witnesses for a motorcycle crash in Gilpin County, the agency said Tuesday.

Troopers responded around 7:20 p.m. Saturday to a crash involving a motorcyclist on Highway 6 at milepost 268 near Golden.

According to CSP, the motorcyclist, a 47-year-old man, was traveling eastbound on the highway when he lost control of the motorcycle, causing the bike to slide into a Honda CR-V.

The rider was then thrown from the motorcycle and landed in the westbound lanes, where he was hit by a different vehicle.

CSP says this unknown vehicle then dragged the man approximately a half mile to one mile west of the initial crash scene. Troopers did not share the status of the victim’s injuries.
