PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is in custody after allegedly luring an 8-year-old girl into his home and firing shots during a confrontation with the child's mother in Philadelphia's Ogontz section.

The incident began around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday on the 5900 block of North 20th Street.

According to witnesses, the suspect pulled the girl into his house by the arm and locked the door.

Nyliah Briggs, the child's aunt, said the girl had been playing outside with other neighborhood children when she was lured inside.

"When she went up to the door, he pulled her in there by the arm, and he locked the door," Briggs said.

Briggs said the child's mother attempted to rescue her daughter by using mace on the man, prompting him to open fire.
