The Loveland High School Crimson Regiment Marching Band has kicked off its 2025 season with a win in its class at its first competition, the Fossil Ridge Festival, this weekend.

The band’s 2025 show, Bewilderness, received its highest first show score in six years at Poudre School District Stadium on Saturday.

Director Kyle Freesen said that the band was encouraged with its first performance, winning its class and taking second place overall. He added that he was glad to receive positive feedback from judges this early in the season.

“You always want to see how you’re going to stack up against groups in your competitive neighborhood,” he said. “There were a couple of other 4A schools there, so we get to see what it’s looking like across the state this year.”
