Jimmy Kimmel returns to ABC on Tuesday, September 23, 2025 after a weeklong suspension by ABC’s parent company Disney following backlash for comments about the killing of Charlie Kirk that he made in a monologue the previous week.

The comments raised the ire of FCC chairman Brenden Carr, who signaled that the government agency would look into the matter. Later, major U.S. station group owners Sinclair and Nexstar made the decision to pull the late-night show from its ABC affiliates — a total of 53 stations in the U.S.
