It has been more than two days since the decomposed body of 65-year-old Aftab Jehan was found at her residence at Ghaffar Manzil in Jamia Nagar. Her neighbours, however, are yet to come to terms with what they witnessed on Sunday night. ARTICLE CONTINUES BELOW VIDEO

A police team had rushed to the couple’s flat at night, broke open the apartment’s door that was locked from inside and found Aftab’s body lying on a bed in one of the rooms. Beside her was her husband, Siraj Khan, a retired music teacher from Jamia Millia Islamia, lying in a fragile state. Their mentally challenged son, Imran, was found sitting outside their bedroom in a daze. According to him, he last ate three days ago.
