INDEPENDENCE, Mo. (KCTV) - Just over a month after the resignation of former police chief Adam Dustman, the City of Independence has an interim for the position.

On Tuesday, the City announced that Douglas Brinkley has been named the Interim Police Chief for the Independence Police Department.

Brinkley has spent time in law enforcement in Michigan and Texas, most recently serving as assistant chief of police, chief of police and assistant city manager for the City of Sugar Land, Texas.
