LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) -- The Desormeaux Foundation in Lafayette is hosting Brenda's Birthday Bash and Maternity Home Fundraiser this weekend to support its mission of helping mothers in need.

The foundation, which has been operating since July 2000, provides resources and support to pregnant women and mothers in Acadiana. It runs several facilities, including a Women's Center, Maternity Home, Baby and Me Baby Boutique, Mimi's Attic and the Theology of the Body Resource Center.

"We help them not only choose life, but we help them with whatever they need after that, after the baby is born as well," said Brenda Desormeaux, founder and president of the Desormeaux Foundation.
