YOUNGSTOWN The Autism Society of the Mahoning Valley (ASMV) is weighing in following claims of a link between Tylenol and Autism from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

ASMV released a statement expressing "deep concern" with these claims, which were brought forth by President Donald Trump and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Director Robert F. Kennedy Jr. Monday afternoon.

"We know that when public conversations arise about the causes of Autism, it can stir up many emotions, especially for families who have spent years seeking answers, compassion and understanding," the statement reads.

The statement goes on to say that decades of research on Autism shows that the disorder is influenced by a combination of genetic, biological and environmental factors,
