ROCKY RIVER, Ohio -- City Council approved several contracts during its Sept. 22 meeting.
The contracts will allow the city to:
• Buy a new street sweeper to replace one nearing the end of its life
• Remove old fuel storage tanks from outside the city service garage
• Pay architects for additional services related to a planned fire department renovation.
Street sweeper
The city will spend about $312,000 to buy a new Elgin Pelican Street Sweeper from A&H Equipment of Independence.
The city’s current street sweeper is more than 20 years old and “now on its last leg,” according to a Street Department memo submitted to City Council asking for the new piece of equipment.
