Police investigate death of man found in Montebello as suspicious

A man was found dead in a riverbed near San Gabriel Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue in Montebello around 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23.

A passing bicyclist noticed the man’s body and police are now investigating the death as suspicious, Lt. Brandon Contreras of the Montebello Police Department said.

The man’s cause of death and how long the body may have been there were under investigation.

The area where the body was found is dense with brush, Contreras said.

The man’s identity was not immediately released.
