SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. —

South Carolina agencies and organizations dedicated to guiding crime victims through a path of healing and survivorship will receive millions of federal and state dollars to continue their work.

Attorney General Alan Wilson joined 32 Upstate agencies on Tuesday to celebrate the award, which allocated $7 million of a $26 million statewide pot for victims' services groups and resources.

The funding is allocated using four types of grants. Two of them are federal: the Victims of Crime Act, or VOCA, and the Violence Against Women Act, or VAWA. The other two are state-funded: State Victim Assistance Program, or SVAP, and the Supplemental Allocation for Victims Services, or SAVS.
