AMARILLO, Texas (KFDA) - The City of Amarillo hosted its regular meeting with agenda items including emergency preparedness concerning the Pantex plant.

The council approved the final year grant agreement between the Amarillo Office of Emergency Management and the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts State Energy Conservation Office.

The Amarillo OEM got approval from the council for over $200,000 in a matching grant.

Amarillo’s emergency management department will be using the funding received through the agreement to conduct emergency management activities.

This will be in preparation for a response to potential incidents at the Pantex plant.
