A brushfire in Paia on Maui has prompted evacuation orders as of this afternoon, according to Maui Emergency Management Agency.

The fire was reported at 1:30 p.m. in the area of Holomua Road and Baldwin Avenues.

At about 2:09 p.m., MEMA issued evacuation orders, as well warnings, for multiple areas of Paia due to smoke and proximity to the fire. Specific zone locations and orders can be found on the Genasys map .

Parts of Baldwin and Holomua remain closed due to firefighting efforts. Motorists are asked to avoid the area.

At this time, MEMA did not have brush fire size estimates or further details.
