MCLEAN COUNTY ( 25News Now ) - A Ridgeview School District bus driver in McLean County was sentenced Tuesday for allegedly grabbing an 11-year-old passenger, leaving red marks on his neck and arm.

In court, the judge sentenced 64-year-old Joseph C. Zimmerman to 12 months of court supervision and 50 hours of community service. Zimmerman must also pay a $500 fine. He was initially charged with a felony count of aggravated battery to someone younger than 13 and two misdemeanor battery counts.

The sentencing follows months of investigation into the aggression, which included a court document indicating the Colfax Police chief watched a video of the incident. The video reportedly showed Zimmerman grabbing a boy by the back of the neck.
