Michael Harris II hit two long home runs and rookie Hurston Waldrep pitched six strong innings to help the Atlanta Braves extend their league-leading winning streak to 10 games with a 3-2 victory over the visiting Washington Nationals on Tuesday.
The Braves (75-83) have their first double-digit winning streak since winning 14 straight in June 2022. Washington (64-94) has lost nine of 12 games to the Braves this season.
Harris had a pair of solo homers, a 444-foot shot in the fifth and a 424-footer in the seventh. They marked his first home runs since Aug. 27 against Miami, giving him 19 for the season and matching his career high. It was his first multi-homer game of the season and sixth of his career.
Waldrep (6-1) allowed just one run on five hits with four walks and five strikeouts.
