MADISON (WKOW) -- Parkcrest Swim & Tennis Club on Madison's west side has officially broken ground for its pool renovation.
Phase one includes construction of three pool vessels and a modern mechanics building.
Leaders say the renovation ensures Parkcrest can continue to be a gathering place for community and recreation.
"This a place to learn to swim. It's a place to get some of your early competitive opportunities. It's a place to just meet friends and hang out and swim in the pool or just make up plays and dances on the tennis courts," board president Jason Brown said.
Parkcrest has been in the community for almost 60 years. The renovation will help Parkcrest stick around for another 60 years to come.
