An investigation is underway after a woman was shot at a Riverside tow yard before the alleged gunman killed himself.

On Sept. 23, Riverside Police responded to a business on the 6100 block of Columbus Avenue shortly after 8 a.m.

The male suspect opened fire and shot a woman at the scene. He then continued firing multiple rounds at other employees.

Arriving officers found the female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. She was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other employees were not injured.

The male suspect then turned the gun on himself and was found dead a short distance away, police said.

The suspect has not been identified, but there are reports that he may have been a former employee of the tow yard.
