HINESVILLE, Ga. (WTOC) - A family living on the 200 block of Glenn Bryant Road has been displaced after a vehicle slammed into their home Tuesday night, according to the Coastal News Service.

According to the Hinesville Police Department, the crash happened around 9:30 p.m. when the driver struck the side of the residence, hitting a bedroom and injuring one of the residents.

The driver attempted to leave the scene and pulled the car into a nearby yard about half a block away.

Police say parts of the damaged home were found on the hood of the car.

The driver was taken into custody and is facing charges that include fleeing the scene of an accident. Additional charges are pending.

City housing inspectors determined the home is uninhabitable due to the main waterline being damaged.
