MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Md. — More than 100 new traffic enforcement cameras are coming to Montgomery County.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, local officials signed a new contract tech company Vitronic to expand the traffic enforcement program. In the expansion, police say the county will get 140 new speed cameras and 76 red-light cameras.
"The expansion includes more than 55 roadside deployable cameras, as well as fixed pole cameras in school zones and red-light cameras throughout the county," MCPD said in a press release Tuesday afternoon.
Installation of the new cameras is scheduled to begin in October.
