LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
Nearly four years after a deadly ambush on the Watterson Expressway, the murder trial of Keyshaun Stewart is underway.
On Tuesday, jurors heard opening statements and testimony from the Louisville Metro Police Department sergeant who survived being shot in the face.
“This trial is probably going to look a little bit different than you would expect. This trial is going to challenge you to think critically,” said the defense attorney in opening statements.
“I will return up here and ask you to find the defendant, Keyshaun Stewart, guilty of murdering Fred O’Bannon… and of endangering Sergeant Lane and Andre Carson,” said the prosecutor.
